“Change begins at the end of your comfort zone”
During the past 15 weeks, I completed the Connect Online & Onsite course at Ulovane and it’s been a great experience in which I learned many new things. From the time we started the Online portion of the course where we completed the theory section of the Apprentice Field Guide course, it was very well managed, easy to follow and the Ulovane team was always there to help and give advice.
In mid-May, I arrived at Ulovane and immediately felt very welcomed by the staff and all other pupils. The level of input and education at Ulovane is second to none! Schalk, our trainer and the owner of Ulovane, is very knowledgeable about all aspects of the course, and his enthusiasm to impart knowledge was very welcomed. The practical aspect of going out onto Amakhala Game Reserve and putting into practice all that we learned was a real highlight for me.
While I have always loved birdlife, this was the one section of the course that really drew me in. As I’ve already mentioned, all the people at Ulovane from staff to other pupils were also a highlight where I got to meet new people and grow my social skills. Besides the academic and practical part of the course, I really learned a lot about myself personally and found this was a real growth point in my life.
I would highly encourage anyone who loves nature, people, or who are wanting to step out of their comfort zone to consider this course or any other course at Ulovane. Big thanks to everyone at Ulovane!
