Life as a trainee Trails Guide: Tracks and Tracking
Ulovane update: During week 6 we had the chance to learn some more about track and signs with Taryn Ingram- Gillson. Taryn is one of the most experienced persons in this field. She is a professional trainer and evaluator in tracking of Down to Earth Nature Training. We were divided into 2 smaller groups and every group had 3 days to spend tracking.
The first day was about learning tracks and signs. We found it very interesting and informative and we learnt a lot enjoying every moment.
The second and the third days we had the practical evaluation of CyberTracker Track and Signs Interpretation, trackers can achieve any of the following results, depending on their outcomes:
- Level 1 (70-79%)
- Level 2 (80-89%)
- Level 3 (90-99%)
- Professional Level (100%)
Coming close to the week end we had to be ready for the mock exam so we spent the rest of the week studying. On sunday we had the mock exam and now we are busy studying for the real Fgasa Trails Guide Test of tomorrow.
Good luck to everyone!!!

We need the tonic of wildness…At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable. We can never have enough of nature.” – Henry David Thoreau
