…….the sun popped out from behind the clouds (what I now know to be Nimbostratus clouds J ) and graced us with its presence on day four. Despite both groups having exams that day there was still a collective sigh of relief at the sight of it and a noticeable uplift in spirit after the persistent rain and cold weather that had delivered and welcomed us into the arms of Ulovane.
An event to seal our new found friendships and to break any, as yet unbroken ice, was required so Matt (otherwise known as Will) and I generously and heroically offered up our birthdays for the occasion – thank you to everyone that made it a real celebration for both Matt and I and for the wine and chocolate!!!!!
Although the weather did its best to hinder our fist weeks investigations we have still managed to see a Blacked Backed Jackal, Sac spider, Ostriches, Giraffes, Elephants, Warthogs, Tortoise and a myriad of birds and my personal favourites a Green Milkwood Locust and the rare Addo Flightless Dung Beatle…….a promise of things to come. Welcome to my fellow classmates – NG1 and welcome back TG – I think I can speak for all of us when I say we are looking forward to the next 9 weeks.
